Fountain Court is pleased to announce that Leonora Sagan has joined Chambers from Kobre & Kim LLP, having previously been a member of 20 Essex Street. Leonora specialises in complex cross-border fraud, business crime litigation and investigations. She will be joining the already-established commercial crime team launched in July 2016 with the arrival of Richard Lissack QC, Nicholas Medcroft QC, Robin Barclay and Eleanor Davison.

The team is the first of its kind in a specialist commercial set and unique to the Magic Circle, operating at the intersection of criminal and commercial practice, and allowing Fountain Court to provide a high-end, one-stop service to clients, including appropriate teams for larger and more complex cases.

Bankim Thanki QC, Head of Chambers, said:

“The last three years have been an exciting period for Fountain Court. The successful integration of the commercial crime team — and successful outcomes for our clients in cases such as SFO v Barclays Bank and SFO v ENRC — mean that Chambers is at the forefront of top end business crime work, seamlessly able to provide an integrated service to clients at the intersection between civil and criminal law, and in all aspects of complex litigation, investigations and regulatory work. Leonora’s arrival, with specialist experience from her time in New York and London, yet further enhances this offering.”

Alex Taylor, Senior Clerk, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Leonora to Fountain Court. Her experience from her time at Kobre & Kim (in New York and in London) will be an invaluable addition to the team and ensures that we continue to be the leading commercial set in this space.”

Michael Kim, co-founder of Kobre & Kim, said:

“Leonora is a fantastic litigator who excelled in highly complex fraud, misconduct and white-collar crime matters during her time at Kobre & Kim.  She will be a tremendous addition to Fountain Court, and we wish her the best.”
