Fountain Court Chambers is pleased to announce that Bridget Lucas, Paul Sinclair and James Cutress have been appointed Queen’s Counsel.
Bridget Lucas was called to the Bar in 1989. Bridget is involved in a broad spectrum of chancery and commercial disputes, including boardroom and shareholder disputes; substantial fraud claims; and contractual disputes arising in various industry sectors including telecoms, oil and gas. She has a significant offshore practice, appearing regularly overseas, most recently in the Cayman Islands acting as Lead Counsel in the 129 day AHAB v SICL trial after Mr Justice Marcus Smith’s elevation to the bench. She also undertakes arbitration work.
Paul Sinclair was called to the Bar in 1997. Paul has acted in some of the major commercial disputes in recent years including PAG v RBS, Peak Hotels, JKX Oil & Gas, the Berezovsky v Patarkatsishvili litigation, Kuwait Airways Corporation v Iraqi Airways Company and Northshore Ventures v Anstead. He regularly appears as an advocate before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court as well as other tribunals acting both as sole counsel and as part of a larger team of barristers.
Paul is ranked in Tier 1 by the Legal 500 as one of the handful of top leading juniors in Commercial Litigation.
James Cutress was called to the Bar in 2000. James has a broad commercial practice, with considerable experience as an advocate, as well as of working as part of a team in heavy and complex commercial disputes. He regularly acts both before the English Courts and in international arbitrations.
James is recommend by Chambers & Partners in the areas of Commercial Dispute Resolution, Banking & Finance, Insurance, and Aviation, and by the Legal 500 for Commercial Litigation, Insurance & Reinsurance, Aviation and Professional Negligence.
Bridget, Paul and James will formally take Silk when they make their declaration before the Lord Chancellor at a ceremony in Westminster Hall on 26 February 2018.
