Anneliese, who joins Fountain Court from Four New Square, specialises in commercial disputes focused around professional liability, energy and natural resources, construction, and insurance, acting in very high-value cases both domestic and international.

Having attracted accolades such as The Lawyer Barrister of the Year 2014, Chambers & Partners Construction Silk of the Year 2014, The Lawyer Hot 100 2015, and Debrett’s 500 Most Influential People in Britain 2015, Anneliese(Call 1996, Silk 2012) is widely recognised as one of the leading silks of her generation.

In moving to Fountain Court, Anneliese says she hopes to benefit from the set’s international focus and high-quality membership:

“I am truly excited to be joining Fountain Court Chambers. There really is no other set like it at the Bar at the moment, with exceptional barristers, a phenomenal clerking team and a truly international market position and sense of direction.

“I am very proud of the practice I have built so far. As I look forward to working on even more complex cases, featuring multiple silks and covering new jurisdictions, I know Fountain Court is the right environment to support this.”

Stephen Moriarty, Head of Chambers, said Anneliese’s arrival:

“Anneliese is one of the most well-respected barristers working today, having taken silk early in her career and won accolades for her excellent work. It is a pleasure to be able to welcome her to Fountain Court.

“I am proud that Fountain Court is able to attract members of Anneliese’s calibre, and it is a testament to our standing that we are able to do so.”

Alex Taylor, Senior Clerk at Fountain Court, said:

“This has been a great year for Fountain Court. We welcomed a number of new silks and junior members, and created a new commercial crime practice. Our performance was recognised by Chambers & Partners, which awarded us Chambers of the Year and Commercial Litigation Set of the Year.

“It is pleasure to cap this year off by welcoming as exceptional a silk as Anneliese Day. I and the rest of Chambers look forward to working with her on the opportunities ahead.”
