Fountain Court barrister Deepak Nambisan was part of the team led by former member of Chambers, Lord Goldsmith QC, now Chair of Debevoise & Plimpton’s European litigation practice, which succeeded in having a controversial injunction set aside. On 27 February 2011 the Eastern Caribbean High Court of St. Christopher & Nevis, Nevis Circuit, discharged an ex parte injunction granted to Rusal earlier in the month, which prevented a Norilsk Nickel subsidiary from completing transactions as part of Norilsk’s $3.5 billion share buyback and from voting with these shares at Norilsk’s March EGM. The dispute is part of a Russian shareholder battle over the $46 billion company, Russia’s largest producer of nickel and palladium. Deepak was part of a global team comprising lawyers from London, New York, Russia, St. Kitts and the British Virgin Islands.
