Timothy Dutton QC has been appointed by Sport England to lead an investigation into how £20 million was dealt with through the World Class Payments Bureau.

Sport England, a publicly funded organisation, distributes around £200 million each year.   Timothy Dutton QC has been charged in an inquiry announced on 16th June with, amongst other things, investigating who sanctioned the creation of the World Class Payments Bureau and its account, who was subsequently aware of the existence of the account and whether any money was misused. He is expected to report back in the autumn.
