Fountain Court Chambers is pleased to announce that Michael Green and Richard Handyside have both been appointed Queen’s Counsel. This takes the number of silks practising at Fountain Court to 23.
Michael Green was called to the Bar in 1987 and joined Fountain Court Chambers in 1998 having previously practised at 7 Stone Buildings (now Maitland Chambers). Michael has a wide-ranging commercial litigation practice with particular emphasis and experience in company law, insolvency, civil fraud, financial services, professional negligence and tax. Along with being appointed a DTI inspector in 1997, Michael was Junior Counsel to the Crown (A Panel) from 1997 to date. His expertise in company and insolvency work is recognised in Chambers & Partners UK, Legal 500 and Legal Experts.
Richard Handyside was called to the Bar in 1993 and undertook his pupillage at Fountain Court. Richard has a broad general commercial law practice encompassing banking and finance, general commercial, civil fraud, company, insurance and reinsurance, energy, professional negligence and private international. His expertise in banking and finance, commercial litigation and insurance and reinsurance work is acknowledged by Chambers & Partners UK, Legal 500 and Legal Experts. He was named Banking and Finance Junior of the Year at the 2008 Chambers Bar Awards, an award he previously won in 2006 and for which he was also shortlisted in 2005 and 2007.
