This part features another two conversations, this time focusing on litigation and third-party funding.
2015 saw the establishment of the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) – a new division of the Singapore High Court focused on international commercial disputes with an international judiciary and a number of interesting procedural features. Joining Andrew in a discussion about the SICC, six years into its operation, is Laurence Wong, Senior Director for Business Development for the SICC, and Eddee Ng, Joint Managing Partner and Co-Head of Disputes at Tan Kok Quan Partnership (TKQP) who has practical experience of conducting litigation in the SICC.
The final conversation is with Arvindran Manoosegaran, Investment Manager at third party funder Omni Bridgeway. Arvin and Andrew discuss how the market for litigation and arbitration funding in Asia has developed since 2017, when Singapore and Hong Kong passed legislation to legalise third party funding for arbitration cases.
