Sian Huckett has been appointed as Fountain Court’s joint Deputy Senior Clerk, along with Katie Szewczyk. Sian joined Fountain Court in October 2008 as a Team Leader’s Assistant and was promoted in 2013 to a Team Leader, prior to her recent promotion.
As joint Deputy to Alex Taylor, Sian assists in leading the clerking team and assisting with the strategic management for Chambers. Sian’s role focuses on building, establishing and enhancing client relationships, developing her team’s practices and ensuring individual members’ strengths are best utilised in the allocation of new instructions. Sian is responsible for her team’s diary management and fee negotiation and assessment. She represents the Clerking Team on the Equality and Diversity Committee at Fountain Court. In addition, and alongside her assistant Declan Gray, Sian deals with enquiries for arbitrators and mediators.
Sian is a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks, and is an active member of the IBC Management Committee and Equality and Diversity Committee; she is also involved in various sub-committee initiatives (Access to clerking and Mentoring) via the IBC.
