The Female Advocates’ Breakfast (FAB) initiative, founded by Fountain Court Silk Leigh-Ann Mulcahy KC, has been awarded Gender Equality Initiative of the Year at the Women & Diversity in Law Awards.

The FAB initiative, which began in 2018, was designed to foster a supportive, informal space for female advocates across the legal profession to connect, share experiences, and access advice. The events are hosted by Fountain Court and a variety of chambers and have seen support from leading figures in the profession, including Amanda Pinto KC (former Chair of the Bar), HHJ Khatun Sapnara (first British Bangladeshi judge and now Senior Judge of the Central Family Court) and Nataliia Savonik (a Ukrainian lawyer who spoke about her personal experience of fleeing the country with her young daughter when Russia invaded and powerfully reminded everyone about what really matters in life), who have all delivered inspiring keynote speeches at previous FABs.

Looking ahead, the FAB programme has already secured hosting commitments up to Spring 2028, with plans to continue its mission of supporting women at the Bar. With the demand for these events continuing to grow, Fountain Court Chambers is committed to ensuring that the FABs remain a key fixture in the legal profession’s calendar, playing a vital role in attracting and retaining female talent at all levels.

If you would like to be added to the Female Advocates’ Breakfast mailing list and receive invitations to future FABs, please get in touch with us by emailing marketing@fountaincourt.co.uk.
