Gordon Langley accepts appointments through Chambers to act as an arbitrator and to conduct neutral evaluations.
He was educated at Westminster School and Balliol College, Oxford (MA; BCL), He lives in London. He started practice at the Bar in 1966 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1983. From 1995 to 2007 he was a High Court Judge. Both at the Bar and as a Judge the focus of his work has been commercial disputes. He was one of the Judges specifically authorised to sit in the Commercial Court and as such has been the Judge in a very wide variety of commercial disputes. The disputes regularly involved parties from other jurisdictions and the application of “foreign” law. It is a feature of the Commercial Court that the judges are responsible for the management of cases throughout the interlocutory process as well as at trial.
