Mark Watson
Senior Clerk / Team Leader
Mark is the Senior Clerk and has loyally served Fountain Court since 1974. He has gained an invaluable knowledge of the members and work of Fountain Court and qualified as a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks.
As well as assisting Alex Taylor, Director of Clerking, with the efficient management of the Clerks’ Room, Mark’s pivotal role encompasses practice development, fee negotiation and assessment, diary management and the allocation of briefs and instructions for a team of barristers ranging in call from silks to juniors. Amongst the members who Mark has the responsibility for are a number of high profile past members of Fountain Court who sit as either arbitrators and or mediators. Additionally, as Senior Clerk, Mark has an active role in administrative and business development strategies and represents Fountain Court at marketing and other external events. Mark is assisted by Sian Huckett.
Mark is married with three children and his interests include football, fishing and golf.
