Recent Practice:
Nico worked on a wide range of commercial matters during pupillage, in line with Chambers’ profile. He has also regularly appeared as an advocate in the County Courts.
Banking and Finance
Nico was seconded to Barclays’ Global Retail Bank Litigation department in September 2011, and gained experience in a wide range of banking and consumer credit disputes.
Commercial Litigation
Nico was seconded to Mischon de Reya’s commercial litigation team in early October 2011.
He was also recently instructed (with Timothy Dutton QC) to prepare expert evidence in a major >£1 billion commercial dispute before the High Court of Cyprus.
Conflicts of Law and Jurisdiction
Nico was recently instructed (with Michael McLaren QC) to advise on the correct jurisdiction to seek an injunction in a shipping dispute.
Publications:
Assisting Marcus Smith QC (as co-author) on the 2nd edition of The Law of Assignment: The Creation and Transfer of Choses in Action, (2012, OUP) the leading practitioner text on assignment.
Specialist contributing editor on restitution (with Marcus Smith QC and Henry King) for Bullen & Leake & Jacob’s Precedents of Pleadings, 17th edition (2012, Sweet & Maxwell).
Nico is also the author of a talk on cheque fraud.
